Suspended Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Anil Singh’s brother Dilip Singh was allegedly thrashed by unknown miscreants at gunpoint in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao on Sunday, 25 March, reported ANI.
According to the report, the accused fled the spot after the incident. The police has detained five people in connection with the incident.
Anil Singh was suspended from the BSP for having cross-voted for the ruling BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections.
India TV quoted Singh as alleging that the attack was orchestrated by the BSP for having gone against it in the polls.
The BJP managed to sweep 9 out of 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh, while Samajwadi Party’s Jaya Bachchan won the 10th seat.
