FB Live: Author Arup Chatterjee Talks About His Book on Railways

The Quint caught up with author Arup Chatterjee to talk about his new book on the Railways, Purveyors of Destiny: A Cultural Biography of the Railways.

Chatterjee’s book is described as ‘A Cultural Biography on the Indian Railways’ charting its journey from its inception by the British Raj to its relevance in the modern day.

He has a PhD in English from the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. His doctoral dissertation was on 'Hillmaking: Architecture and Literature from the Doon Valley.'

He has taught English as an Assistant Professor at colleges in the University of Delhi. In 2014-15, he was the recipient of Charles Wallace fellowship to the United Kingdom.
