Two militants have been gunned down by security forces in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, according to reports.
A police officer confirmed that security forces surrounded Malwara (Newa) village in Pulwama district, following information about the presence of militants.
When challenged, the militants fired at the security forces, after which an encounter started. Two militants have been killed.Police Officer
Earlier this week, on 17 June, a militant was killed in a gunfight between security forces and militants in the same district. The security forces started an operation in Ladoo village of Pulwama district near Pampore town, following specific information about the presence of some militants.

When a cordon was being laid around the area where militants were reportedly hiding, the security forces were fired upon. The forces retaliated and a gunfight ensued.
