Vomit Smell Caused Sickness, Not Food, Says Tejas Express Report 

At least 26 people aboard the Tejas Express were taken ill after consuming food served in the train.

An inquiry report on the suspected food poisoning incident on-board the Tejas Express train has found no problem with the food quality, and said the unease was triggered after two children vomited “vitiating the air quality in the A/C coach”.

The report by a Central Railways team, accessed by PTI, said the quality of the food served on-board the premium train was “satisfactory”.

The vomiting smell triggered uneasiness in others and then another two children vomited. This further vitiated the air in the coach and then two more children vomited. This triggered uneasiness in their parents... After this incident, few other passengers of C1, C2, C5, C7 coaches who passed through this coach also complained of uneasiness.
Railway Report 
At least 26 people aboard the Mumbai-bound Tejas Express from Goa were on Sunday, 15 October, taken ill after consuming food served by the Railways’ catering wing, IRCTC, the Konkan Railways said.

Railway officials said that according to hospital authorities, all the passengers are out of danger.

According to a Konkan Railway official, “All these passengers were deboarded at Chiplun and rushed to government and private hospitals.”

IRCTC officials said around 290 passengers were served breakfast, out of which three started complaining of unease and nausea. More passengers complained of similar symptoms later.

The Tejas Express, one of the premium trains of the Indian Railways, connects Mumbai and Karmali in Goa.
