The news that Harry Potter fans have been impatiently waiting for has finally arrived.

JK Rowling has announced plans of releasing the eight book of the Harry Potter series, which has left fans in both the wizarding and muggle worlds feeling ecstatic.

The author confirmed that a Special Rehearse Edition of the script book of the new stage play Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Part I and II will be released on 31 July 2016 which devoted readers will note, is also Harry Potter’s birthday.

The eighth book of the Potter series picks up from the final scene of The Deathly Hallows where Harry, Ron, Hermoine and Ginny are seen waving their children off to Hogwarts from Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

The new play is a sequel to the previous Harry Potter books, focusing on Harry Potter and his youngest son, Albus Severus.

Readers and moviegoers last saw Harry waving off his children at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts, in the epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up after that moment and is staged in two parts, due to the ‘epic nature of the story’.
