A Samajwadi Party (SP) local leader Atul Yadav Bantu was shot at outside his residence in Hazratganj area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh by unidentified persons, police informed.
A corporator from Narhi ward, the 42-year-old was shot by motorcycle-borne assailants.
He was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants, they said.
