  • Railway unions have called for a nationwide indefinite strike by workers from 11 July till their demands are met. The demands include reviewing of new pension scheme and 7th Pay Commission recommendations.

  • The strike notice will be served on Thursday, according to S Gopal Mishra, All-India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) General Secretary.

  • He claimed the strike is “inevitable due to the nugatory attitude” of the government over the charter of demands submitted more than six months back.
