Following an income tax raid on Wednesday, the owner of a famous chaatwala-cum-caterer in Patiala declared an undisclosed income of Rs 1.20 crore, reported Times of India.

This comes ten days after a famous pakora shop owner in Ludhiana was compelled to declare an undisclosed income of Rs 60 lakh.

The Patiala Chaatwala was a wealthy person who had built two party halls and normally charged between Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh per function for his chaat services, reported TOI.

During the raid, it was discovered that the chaatwala had amassed a lot of wealth and invested significantly in immovable property, and had also not filed his Income Tax Return in two years.

According to the Times of India, the chaatwala will now have to pay an income tax of about Rs 52 lakh.
