According to a NDTV report on Tuesday, Pakistani terrorist Masood Azhar is not in Pakistan’s custody and is on the run and may even be hiding in Afghanistan.

Maulana Masood Azhar, the man whom India holds responsible for the attack on Pathankot airbase, was said to be in protective custody in Pakistan. Though Indian government denied any such news, media reports from Pakistan had claimed that Azhar and his relatives had been placed under house arrest in Islamabad.

With the outbreak of this report, top-ranking officials in the Pakistan government clarified to NDTV that while some Jaish operatives were under arrest, Azhar was not one of them. The report added that sources have told NDTV that Azhar might have fled to Afghanistan and is now untraceable.
