India on Monday, 31 May, reported 1,52,734 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 2,80,47,534. The death toll increased by 3,128 to 3,29,100.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are currently 20,26,092 active cases, while 2,56,92,342 patients have been discharged so far, with 2,38,022 discharges reported in the last 24 hours.

Delhi to Get 'Sputnik V' Vaccines: Kejriwal
Delhi is likely to get the COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V after June 20, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday.
Speaking to the press on the availability of Sputnik V, the chief minister said, "We have been assured that after June 20, we will get some doses. Sputnik V vaccine is not being produced domestically so far. Right now they are importing the vaccine and will start manufacturing in August. A part of the doses imported from Russia will be provided to Delhi."
Non-Essential Shops to Open in Maharashtra for 5 Days a Week
With daily-reported COVID-19 cases going down in Mumbai, the state government has announced that all non-essential shops can operate for five days (Monday to Friday), from 7 am to 2 pm while adhering to the odd-even rule, and shall remain closed on weekends.
Singapore Among First Countries To Start Vaccinating 12-18 Year-Olds
Singapore is opening up its COVID-19 vaccination programme to adolescents from Tuesday to help contain the latest outbreak that has infected some students, and will step up testing and tracing, reported Reuters.
The city-state is among the first countries in the world to offer vaccines to teenagers before completing inoculation of adults.
The city-state will open up vaccination for 12-18 year-old adolescents, followed by the last group of young adults aged 39 years and below.
