  • An Al-Qaeda plot targeting key government installations in Lahore was foiled on Wednesday with the killing of four terrorists, including the head of Al-Qaeda Gujranwala chapter Abdur Rehman. he was on his way to the city with explosives and assault rifles.
  • Two rocket launchers, 1 kg of explosives with ball-bearings, three pistols of 30 bore, one AK-47 rifle and four hand-grenades were recovered from the scene.
  • Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab Police revealed that seven militants belonging to Al- Qaeda were on their way to Lahore from Sialkot on a car and a motorcycle to attack important installations.
