Minor Girl Allegedly Raped by Teacher in Arunachal Pradesh
Minor girl raped in Arunachal Pradesh. Villagers attack school and teacher involved in the incident.
A seven-year-old primary student of Liitung Liimang Public School at Geku was raped and psychologically harassed by her teacher recently, Upper Siang SP (in charge) Doge Jini said.
The school premises and the teacher were attacked on Monday by agitated people of the district. The teacher was later admitted to a local hospital.
The principal of the school, along with the teacher, was arrested for his attempt to shield the accused.
The matter came to the victim’s parents’ attention when the victim refused to return to school after the Solung festival break, the SP said.
On Tuesday, the Pangi Welfare Society (PWS) demanded the Yingkiong District Court yesterday to closure the school immediately and pay Rs 20 lakh as compensation to the victim.
The Geku unit of Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society has demanded life imprisonment to the accused person.
Public Welfare Department (PWD) Parliamentary Secretary Alo Libang, from Tuting-Yingkiong constituency, said that he would direct the district administration to take strongest possible action against the inhuman act.
Education Parliamentary secretary Bamang Felix claimed to have directed the deputy director of school education to send the detailed report to initiate appropriate action.
