Man Sets Wife On Fire For Wrongly Cooking Mutton In Hyderabad

The accused was heavily drunk when he set his wife on fire for not cooking the curry in right way.

Cooking for this woman ended up costing her life as Hyderabad man set his wife on fire for not cooking his mutton properly. The man, Shanker Rao C, a labourer who’s an alcoholic allegedly poured kerosene on his wife Sulochana, who worked as a maid and burned her alive at their house in Katedan area earlier this week.

Shanker had brought mutton and asked her to make curry. After eating it, he beat her up saying it wasn’t good enough and had a quarrel with her. Later, he poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze saying her living was useless because she didn’t know how to cook food,” the police officer said.

Shanker was drunk at the time of the incident. The police was calling into action only when Sulochana’s mother and daughter in the house raised alarm after he set her on fire and the neighbours rushed and doused the flames to save her life. She was then taken to state-run Osmania General Hospital where she succumed to high-level burns and later declared dead by the doctors.
