Journalist and Technician Killed in Separate Shootings in Pakistan
A satellite engineer and a journalist were shot dead within 24 hours in Karachi, Pakistan.
A journalist, and a technician working for separate Pakistani news networks, were shot dead by gunmen on motorbikes in two incidents, within 24 hours of each other.
According to a report by Pakistani news network Geo TV, Deputy Inspector-General (West) Feroz Shah said that Alam was shot outside his residence as he was leaving to pick-up his children from school.
He was shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
On Tuesday night, satellite engineer of Geo TV, Arshad Ali Jaffri, died after being shot nine times in his upper body while his driver Anis Chohan was injured and shifted to a private hospital.
The driver of the van was injured in the incident as TV News channel Digital Satellite News Gathering’s (DSNG) vehicle was parked near Naheed Store in Bahadurabad on Tuesday night.
The assailants fled the scene on motorcycles after opening fire and we have started investigations to arrest the gunmen.

Home Minister of Sindh province, Sohail Anwar Khan Siyal has asked senior police officials to immediately arrest the suspects.
