‘Increase in Sins’– Reason for 27% Rise in Andhra Temple Incomes

  • Temples in Andhra Pradesh are receiving an income that is 27 percent larger than what they were receiving earler, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday. He attributed it to the “growing sins and increased troubles” of the people in the state.

  • He added that it wasn’t just temples that were seeing an increase in footfalls. People are apparently visiting churces and mosques for “solace.” He credited places of worship with preserving the sanity of the people.

  • At the same time, liquor sales in the state have dropped, reducing the income of the state.
