India is making every possible effort to secure the release of 11 Indian nationals, who were detained in Kuwait for holding a Satyanarayan puja nearly a fortnight ago, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said in a tweet.

Noises during the puja attracted the attention of neighbours, who in turn called the police.

Most of the 11 detained are from the coastal region and are members of the Navachethana Welfare Association, Kuwait.
