The BJP, on Tuesday, hit back at actor Aamir Khan’s comment on intolerance. Khan said that he is alarmed and that his wife Kiran Rao often talks about leaving the country.
Responding to the debate that followed, BJP’s Shahnawaz Hussain said, “Don’t forget that India made you a star. There is no country better than India for Muslims.”

Shahnawaz Hussain also slammed the Congress party and accused it of trying to divide the country. Responding to a tweet by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on how the government should tackle the issue of intolerance in the country, Hussain said, “Rahul Gandhi should not teach India tolerance”.
Earlier in the day, Congress had tweeted that the BJP government must reach out to people and understand their problems rather than “bullying, threatening and abusing” them.
A host of others have also responded to the debate, some supporting Aamir and some against his comments.
