Delhi Police Special Cell Nabs ISIS Suspect Mohsin Abrahim Sayeed

Another ISIS suspect has been nabbed by Delhi police.

A 26-year-old man with suspected ISIS links was nabbed by the Delhi Police from Kashmere Gate ISBT, making it the fifth arrest in connection with the busting of a module of the dreaded terror outfit last month.

The accused Mohsin was arrested last night based on a tip-off from a central intelligence agency.We have recovered Rs 85000 from his possession. Mohsin is from Malad in Mumbai. He had come to Delhi to meet an associate.

Mohsin, who is believed to be self-radicalised, was acting as a financier and had given Rs 50,000 to the four persons who were arrested from Haridwar last month. All of them were found to have links with a former Indian Mujahideen militant who later went to fight for ISIS.

They allegedly planned to carry out bombings during the ongoing Ardh Kumbh pilgrimage in Haridwar, in Roorkee-Haridwar trains, in Delhi and some parts of the National Capital Region.

He (Sayyed) was in touch particularly with Akhlaq, one of the four persons arrested last month (January 2016).

Mohsin’s link with hawala operator of Mumbai are being probed. He has been arrested under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. This is 21st arrest in Pan-India module by NIA and Delhi Police.
