While many Bharatiya Janata Party members have attempted to distance themselves from Subramanian Swamy’s remarks against the BJP, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is expected to take a different approach to address the issue, reported The Indian Express.
After returning from China on Monday, Jaitley is expected to pressure the BJP to take some sort of decisive action against Swamy’s comments, which according to some, has also divided the party against those who oppose his remarks and those who consider him a “useful tool.”
Swamy’s threats through tweets cannot be dismissed as an independent voice since he happens to be a party member.Arun Jaitley’s confidant told The Indian Express
The Prime Minister, as well as party President Amit Shah, are yet to publicly comment on Swamy’s comments against Jaitley.
Swamy also took a direct swipe at Jaitley when Jaitley defended Arvind Subramanian and told reporters, “Jaitleyji kya bole, kya nahi bole iss se mujhe kya lena dena (What do I have to do with what Jaitley said or did not say). I speak to the Prime Minister and the (BJP) party president when required.”
