Top Union ministers and BJP leaders, including party chief Amit Shah, held a meeting to review the political and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the meeting was attended by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Manohar Parikar, BJP President Amit Shah, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh, among others.

The meeting, held at the Home Minister’s Delhi residence, was also attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and BJP general secretaries Ram Madhav and Ram Lal.

According to Parrikar, the following things were discussed:

  • Security
  • Deployment of paramilitary forces
  • Political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir
  • Pakistan border
  • Flood relief
There was discussion on every thing but no decision on anything. It was a stock-taking meeting. We have a coalition government. It is our responsibility to review from time to time.

Singh, however, evaded questions related to the issue related to Kashmiri Pandits.
