2002-03 Mumbai Blasts: Life Term for Muzammil Ansari, Two Others
Special POTA court gives Muzammil Ansari and two others life imprisonment, three others get 10 years in jail.
A special POTA court on Wednesday pronounced the quantum of punishment for all those found guilty in the 2002-2003 Mumbai blasts case. Main accused Muzammil Ansari has been given life imprisonment along with Wahid Ansari and Farhan Khot.
Four others, including Saquib Nachan (the General Secretary of the outlawed Students Islamic Movement of India), Ateef Mulla and Haseeb Mullah have been given 10 years in jail.
On 29 March, the court had found 10 of the accused guilty under various sections of POTA, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act & Railways Act. Three other convicts were given two years jail term by Special POTA Judge PR Deshmukh.
Three others – Nadeem Paloba, Harun Lohar and Adnan Mulla – had been acquitted.
