Women can travel on buses free of cost, but tickets for children who are with travelling them will be charged.

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is offering free bus rides to women in the Delhi-NCR region on the occasion of Bhai Dooj on Friday, 9 November, the DTC announced.

The facility will be available to women between 8 am and 10 pm in both air-conditioned and non-air conditioned buses, a DTC spokesperson said on Thursday, 8 November.

Women can travel free of cost, but children travelling with them will be charged for the bus fare, the official said.

The offer was extended by the DTC last year too.

Bhai Dooj, usually held two days after Diwali every year, celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
