CBSE Partners With Microsoft to Train Teachers in Using Technology

The selected schools will nominate two teachers each for the training programme.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has partnered with Microsoft to train 1,000 teachers to improve the access to and use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in schools.

It will help the teachers to integrate technology into teaching, use digital technologies safely, enhance the learning experiences and improve the skills of their students.

This training programme will be conducted in 10 cities across the country starting from 11 September 2019 and CBSE has issued the schedule of the programme with the name of the city, state and venue for the programme to be conducted.

Through this three-day capacity building programme, the teachers will get in-depth practical knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 as well as aspects of artificial intelligence, gamification through Minecraft, Teams, Flipgrid and OneNote.

  • Use Cloud Drive, Digital Storytelling, connect with global educators, planning classroom activities
  • Handling diverse learners in the classroom.
  • Use digital literacy tools to support students’ reading, writing, and fluency development.
  • Handling virtual sessions through Teams
  • Create Bots using Microsoft Cognitive Services
  • Opportunity to become Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) and earn recognition on Microsoft Educator Community through e-badges and certificates on various technologies

The selected schools will nominate two teachers each for the training programme. The deadline for registration is 12 noon on 9 September 2019. They need to fill a form online to register.

It is to be noted that there is no training fee associated with the programme and the number of seats allotted per programme are 25 only. The participants will have to arrange for travel and accommodation themselves.
