Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students often feel stressed when taking board exams for the first time. However, various instructions and sample papers are already issued by the CBSE for the necessary section-wise exams to alleviate the pressure.
The sample papers are released a few months before the board exams, so that the students understand the exam pattern.
CBSE Class 10 Maths Sample Paper & Board Exam Pattern
CBSE has issued the sample paper on its website. Here’s the pattern of the Class 10 Maths exam paper:
A total of 40 questions are asked in the Mathematics question paper in the board examination. These are divided into four sections, which are A, B, C and D:
- Section A: In the first section; all the questions carry one mark each. A total of 20 questions are asked in this section.
- Section B: Very short type questions are asked in section B. The total number of questions is 6 and the questions carry two marks each.
- Section C: Short answer type questions are asked in section C. The number of questions is 8 and each question carries 3 marks.
- Section D: Long answer type questions are asked in the last and fourth section. A total number of 6 questions are asked in this section. These are of 4 marks each.
