CTET 2019 examination will be conducted tomorrow i.e., 7 July 2019. CBSE had released the admit card for CTET 2019 examination earlier on 21 June 2019. The candidates can download their admit card from the official website https://ctet.nic.in/CMS/public/home.aspx

The CTET examination is conducted in multiple languages, CTET 2019 will be conducted across 97 cities in 20 different languages.

Here are some important things that you should know before the CTET 2019 examination.

CTET 2019: Exam Schedule

CTET examination is conducted in two papers. The Paper I of CTET is for those candidates applying for the Primary Stage and want to teach students of Class I-V. The Paper II is for the candidates for the Elementary Stage who want to teach students from Class VI-VIII.

Both Paper I and Paper II for CTET 2019 will be conducted on 7 July 2019. The timings for Paper I and Paper II are-

  • Paper I will be conducted between 9:30 am and 12:00 pm
  • Paper II will be conducted between 2:00 pm and 04:30 pm

CTET 2019: Important Instructions

  • It is advised that the candidates report 90 minutes before the examination to their respective exam centres. Those who reach after the commencement of CTET 2019 examination will not be allowed to take the exam.
  • Once the candidates are asked to break/open the seal of the Test Booklet five minutes before the paper, they should cross-check the Test Booklet Code printed on Side-2 of the OMR Sheet with the one printed on the Test Booklet.
  • Once the candidate has completed the exam, he/she must cross-check if all the particulars required in the OMR Sheet have been filled correctly.

CTET 2019: What Not To Carry

Bringing any of the following to the examination hall is not allowed. Candidates can be disqualified if they bring bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen drives, Eraser, Camera, Wallet, Calculator, devices like Mobile phones, Bluetooth, Earphones, Health band, etc.

CTET 2019: Exam Pattern

The examination for CTET is conducted in the offline mode. The candidates have to mark their answers in the OMR Sheet. Both Papers I & Paper II will be of 150 marks and the candidates will be given 2 hr 30 minutes to answer all the questions.

The CTET 2019 Paper I will have questions from the following subjects-

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (Compulsory)
  • Language I (Compulsory)
  • Language II (Compulsory)
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

30 questions for 30 marks will be asked for all these subjects.

CTET Paper II will have questions from the following subjects-

  • Child Development and Pedagogy (Compulsory): 30 questions will be asked for 30 marks
  • Language I (Compulsory): 30 questions will be asked for 30 marks
  • Language II (Compulsory): 30 questions will be asked for 30 marks
  • Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher): 60 questions will be asked for 60 marks
  • Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher): 60 questions will be asked for 60 marks

CTET 2019: Syllabus

Here’s the syllabus for CTET Paper I:

Child Development and Pedagogy- Under this subject, Child Development (Primary School Child) is allotted 15 questions, Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs is allotted 5 questions and Learning and Pedagogy is allotted 10 questions.

Language I- There will be 15 questions asked for Language Comprehension and for Pedagogy of Language Development there will be 15 questions.

Language II- Comprehension is allotted 15 questions and Pedagogy of Language Development is allotted 15 questions.

Mathematics- There will be 15 questions for Numerical Ability and 15 questions for Pedagogical issues.

Environmental Studies- There will be 15 questions asked from Family and Friends, Food, Shelter, Water, Travel, Things We Make and Do and 15 questions are allotted to Pedagogical Issues.

Here’s the syllabus for CTET Paper II-

Child Development and Pedagogy: 15 questions for Child Development (Elementary School Child), 5 questions for Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs and 10 questions for Learning and Pedagogy.

Language I: Language Comprehension will have 15 questions, Pedagogy of Language Development will also have 15 questions.

Language – II: Comprehension is allotted 15 questions and Pedagogy of Language Development is also allotted 15 questions.

Mathematics & Science: Numerical Ability is allotted 20 questions, Pedagogical issues is allotted 10 questions and Science is allotted 30 questions.

Social Studies/Social Sciences: History, Geography, Social and Political Life is allotted 40 questions and there will be 20 questions for Pedagogical Issues.
