Vijay Mallya on Friday expressed his desire to return to India in a plea to the Patiala House Court.

He said that he wanted to come and appear in the court, but was unable to do so as his passport had been revoked by the Indian authorities.

Mallya has also sought an exemption on account of passport revocation.

The court, on the other hand, sought the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) response on Mallya’s exemption plea.

The case is related to ED’s 2000 FERA violation in Formula 1 transactions.
