Rajnath Urges Russian Defence Industries to Jointly Manufacture in India

Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called upon the Russian defence industry to work jointly to modernise India's defence platforms and manufacture equipment to give a massive boost to the two nations' exports to third countries.

The defence minister said the Indian government is encouraging Orignal Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to make use of the 'Make in India' initiative.

Singh was addressing the CEOs of OEMs from the Russian defence industry after jointly inaugurating the 'India-Russia Defence Industry Cooperation Conference' with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in Moscow.

NDRF Teams Start Arriving in Ahmedabad in Light of Cyclone Maha

NDRF teams arrived in Ahmedabad on 5 Nov, in the light of Cyclone Maha which is expected to make landfall on 7 November. NDRF assistant commandant Ajay Verma said, "6 teams have arrived here. They are being sent to different districts. We also have a medical officer with us. More NDRF teams are expected to arrive."

Trump Chief Of Staff Summoned To Testify In Impeachment Probe

US House impeachment investigators on Tuesday, 5 November, summoned President Donald Trump's acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney for a deposition, saying he has "substantial first-hand knowledge" of Trump's efforts to pressure Ukraine.

"The investigation has revealed that you may have been directly involved in an effort orchestrated by President Trump, his personal agent, Rudolph Giuliani and others to withhold... nearly USD 400 million in security assistance in order to pressure (Ukraine) to pursue investigations that would benefit President Trump's personal political interests," the chairmen of the three committees leading the probe wrote.
