PM Modi Meets Malaysia President and Japan PM in Vladivostok

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Vladivostok, Russia. He earlier met Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of Japan.

PM Narendra Modi is in Russia as the chief guest of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum. He will also take part in the 20th India-Russia Annual Summit and hold bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin.

2017 Pehlu Khan Lynching Case: SIT Submits Probe Report to Rajasthan DGP

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to investigate the 2017 Pehlu Khan lynching case today submitted its report to the Rajsthan DGP, a source said.

He said the report will soon be presented before the chief minister.

Clerk Gets 4-Year Rigorous Jail Term for Rs 10,000 Bribe in Indore

A city court today sentenced a Madhya Pradesh government clerk to four years' rigorous imprisonment for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange of issuing a no-objection certificate.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on the clerk, Vinod Sen, 50, who was attached to the Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board (previously known as Housing Board) at the time of the incident.

There Must Be Enough Politicians Who Care About Air Quality: Tharoor

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed disappointment over the “very limited” discussion on air quality in Parliament and said there should be enough people in the political space who care about this issue.

The lack of the discussion, he said, could be because air quality is not a determinant of votes in India.
