Hong Kong Court Rules in Favour of Extradition of Nabha Jailbreak Mastermind: Punjab Govt

A Hong Kong court on Tuesday ruled in favour of the extradition of Nabha jailbreak mastermind Ramanjit Singh, alias Romi, a Punjab government release said.

Romi was the key conspirator in the Nabha jailbreak incident in 2016, in which six hard core criminals, including two terrorists, were freed.

Dutch Find 25 Migrants Alive in Refrigerated Truck on UK Ferry: Police

A Dutch ferry crew found 25 migrants in a refrigerated container on a boat sailing to Britain on Tuesday and forced the vessel to return to port in the Netherlands, police and emergency services said.

The stowaways received medical attention at the port of Vlaardingen, near Rotterdam, with two being transferred to hospital for more care, they said.

US Welcomes Release of Hostages by Taliban in Afghanistan

The US on Tuesday welcomed the release of two hostages by the Taliban in Afghanistan, describing it a hopeful sign for efforts to end the decades-long conflict in the country. American Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weeks, both professors at the American University in Kabul, were kidnapped at gunpoint in August 2016. Both men were successfully recovered on Tuesday and are currently receiving medical care and other support from the United States Government.

Amnesty Says at Least 106 Killed in Iran Protests

Amnesty International, citing credible reports, said Tuesday it believes at least 106 people have been killed during protests in Iran over a rise in government-set gasoline prices. Iran's government, which has not made nationwide numbers available for the toll of the unrest that began Sunday, did not immediately respond to the report.
