Bolivia Senate Leader Declares Herself President

An opposition leader in Bolivia’s Senate has declared herself the country’s interim president after the resignation of Evo Morales.

The 52-year-old Jeanine Añez took temporary control of the Senate late Tuesday, putting her next in line for the presidency.

Lawmakers of Morales’ Movement for Socialism party were not present when Añez made the announcement.

Turkey Police Rearrest Journalist Ahmet Altan Anakara

Turkish police acting on a court order have rearrested journalist and novelist Ahmet Altan, just a week after his release from prison over alleged links to the failed 2016 coup.

Altan and another veteran journalist Nazli Ilicak were released on 4 November despite having been convicted of "helping a terrorist group".

The Istanbul court sentenced Altan to more than 10 years in jail, but ruled that he and Ilicak should be released under supervision after time already served -- around three years each.

Morales Arrives in Mexico Vowing, 'the Struggle Continues'

Bolivia's ex-president Evo Morales arrived in Mexico to take up political asylum, vowing ‘the struggle continues’,two days after resigning amid mounting protests over his fraud-stained re-election to a fourth term.

A Mexican air force plane carrying the leader touched down at the Mexico City international airport, where Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard -- who says Morales was the victim of a ‘coup’ -- warmly greeted him.

The Kerala state police has decided to deploy 10,017 officers in & around Sabarimala for this festive season.

The deployment will be done over 5 phases starting from November 15. The temple opens on 16th November for the Mandala Pooja festival.
