Buckling under mounting pressure, Bolivian President Evo Morales called for a new election after his claim to have won a fourth term triggered fraud allegations, deadly protests and a split among security forces.
South America's longest-serving leader made the announcement after a preliminary report by the Organization of American States found a ‘heap of observed irregularities’ in the 20 October presidential contest and said a new vote should be held.
Mexico Uncovers 10 More Bodies From Mass Grave in Sonora
Forensic scientists in the Mexican state of Sonora have recovered 10 bodies from mass graves near a beach town, raising the total number of bodies and skeletons found in the area since October to 52.
The state attorney's office said Saturday they were tipped off to the desert burial pits by a group of volunteers called Searching Mothers that tries to find missing people.
