An incident of a gas leak took place in Telangana on Monday, with chlorine gas leaking from a cylinder at the Sirpur Kaghaznagar Paper Mill. While no casualties have been reported, a contract worker has been taken to the hospital.

19 Killed as Iranian Warship Hit by Friendly Fire Missile During Naval Exercises

An Iranian warship was hit by a friendly fire missile during naval exercises, killing 19 sailors, amid tensions with the US, AFP reported on Monday, citing the state media and the army.

"The vessel was hit after moving a practice target to its destination and not creating enough distance between itself and the target," the state television was quoted by AFP as saying.

Sharjeel Imam Moves Delhi HC Against Trial Court Order

Former JNU student Sharjeel Imam, who has been booked under UAPA, moved the Delhi High Court on Monday challenging the trial court order which granted three months more to the Delhi Police for filing a charge sheet in the case. He has sought default bail.

'Salute All Those Leverage Technology to Bring Positive Difference': PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday acknowledged "all those who are leveraging technology to bring a positive difference in the lives of others" on the occasion of National Technology Day.

"We remember the exceptional achievement of our scientists on this day in 1998. It was a landmark moment in India’s history. The tests in Pokhran in 1998 also showed the difference a strong political leadership can make," he wrote on Twitter.
