Some stray dogs in the Tajola industrial area of Navi Mumbai turned blue after swimming in a pond of dyed water. Animal rights activist Arati Chauhan saw pictures of these dogs and shared them on the internet.
I received the pictures through someone. When I went to the area myself, I saw that it was a result of the dye companies polluting the water. We noticed that some birds too had turned blue. These companies should ensure that the dyes and other waste are not polluting the environment.Arati Chauhan, animal rights activist
After complaints from activists and locals, the dye factory that has been releasing chemical waste in the area has been shut down.
