The hilly state of Uttarakhand goes to polls on Wednesday. The state had faced major political crisis in 2016 after 10 of Congress MLAs defected to BJP putting the Harish Rawat government in minority.
The situation became even more tense after the speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly disqualified the rebel MLAs. The matter was resolved after the Supreme Court intervened and asked Chief Minister Harish Rawat to prove his majority in a floor test.
