This week will be longer by a second for you, because the Earth is getting slower in its rotation. Yes, an extra second will be added to Tuesday, June 30.

This is a leap second which is added occasionally to make up for the time lost due to Earth’s slowing speed of rotation.

Though it has no severe impact on humans, the machines aren’t able to handle the extra second which leads to website crashes and computer errors.

Owing to the time difference with the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the extra second will be added on 1 July, at 05:29:29 hours.

We'll get through this! Meanwhile, here's all you need to know about the Coronavirus outbreak to keep yourself safe, informed, and updated.
