Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to be appointed Urdu ambassadors.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, with the assistance from the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), has decided to follow the rising trend and use Bollywood’s star power to promote campaigns. The Modi government is reportedly considering to appoint Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan as brand ambassadors for Urdu!

Can They Even Speak Urdu?

Twitterati were quick to voice their opinion on the three Bollywood stars being appointed as the ambassadors for the campaign. The government is facing flak for attempting to appoint stars who may not even speak Urdu fluently.

One person compared the decision of appointing SRK, Salmaan Khan and Katrina Kaif to making Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli promote Hockey.

Others were not too far with the sarcasm and jokes:

Twitter Pitches for Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Gulzar
