On Monday, after a stunning win over Mexico, Brazil secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2018. Brazil bagged a victory against Mexico by 2-0 and even though this was a spectacular win for Brazil, fans are more inclined towards taking digs at Neymar for his ‘outstanding performance.’
World Cup has produced numerous memes but Monday’s match between Brazil and Mexico has garnered more reactions than any other.
During the game, one could see a gist of play-acting that, depending on your opinion, is either an unethical way to gain a minor advantage or disgraceful behaviour that erodes the values of football.
Brazil’s Neymar Jr had a rather over-the-top reaction to an incident. Mexico’s Miguel Layun stepped on Neymar’s ankle and he acted as if he had sustained ‘hit by a train’ level of pain.
On the Internet, people are applauding Neymar’s extraordinary acting skills and some believe he could win multiple Academy Awards for the same.
