Rumour or fantasy – there is a fairytale wedding they say, that is going to happen at Umaid Bhawan, in Jodhpur. If the setting isn’t royal enough, it will soon be even better, it will be a royal fairy tale!
It is not unknown for visitors to India to pay for the ‘experience’ of a local Indian wedding and there are companies that set that up as part of a unique itinerary. But here of course in this very by-invitation-only affair, where even cell phones are not allowed, the ante just got upped to another level.
In Priyanka’s case the memo is to wow her family to be, to wow the world and to wow her celebrity friends who are travelling all this way to the perfect fantasy combination of Royalty ( Umaid Bhawan), Bollywood ( Priyanka of course) and Indian Wedding. Too much!
And Priyanka will deliver something that is as close to a royal fairy tale, as dreamy as Arabian nights as exciting as a magic carpet ride, all rolled into one- and the best part is she gets to script it.
If rumours are to be believed then Nick Jonas is expected to arrive in a horse-driven carriage in his baraat. He will be dressed the part of a dreamy Punjabi groom with turban and sword. Priyanka Chopra on the other hand, is expected to wear an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla ensemble.
Both the Indian and Christian weddings will be held at two different spots in the palace.
According to Vogue, the Christian service will be officiated by Nick Jonas’ father, Paul Kevin Jonas. As per reports, Chopra is expected to wear a custom-made Ralph Lauren creation for the ceremony. The American designer has reportedly created wedding gowns on only three separate occasions in the past - for his daughter, daughter-in-law and niece.
The #Nickyanka wedding promises to be a spectacle, and exhausting for all involved.
“People will need vacations after this wedding,” Chopra has promised in her interview with Vogue.
“Nick’s mother thinks she was Indian in a past life,” Chopra adds. “She rocks a sari.”
