“Wait, did India just land a man on the moon?!”

A question you are bound to ask after watching the now viral video from Bengaluru.

Days before the landing of India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan 2 on the south pole of the moon, a viral video of a man dressed as an astronaut has left netizens in splits.

The video, shot in Bengaluru’s Tunganagar Main Road, shows a man walking across a cratered patch of land, resembling the lunar surface.

A closer inspection of the video, posted by street artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, however, shows that he was in fact walking on the ‘crater-like’ potholes on the streets of Bengaluru.

As the video started doing rounds on the internet, users from different cities further urged Nanjundaswamy to lend them the suit to show the state of roads in their locality.

This isn’t the first time Nanjundaswamy relied on art to convey the state of roads in the city. Earlier, in May, he used illustrations around the potholes to draw the attention of the authority.

Speaking to The Indian Express, the Bengaluru-based artist said that he did not expect the potholes will have such an "uncanny resemblance to that of the moon's surface."

He further told the daily that the traffic lights and the cars helped add a "dramatic effect" to the video.
