Mother Teresa, Saint of the gutters, who worked relentlessly for the upliftment of the destitute was declared a saint by the Roman Catholic Church, on Sunday.

Over a lakh of her followers from all over the world gathered in Vatican City to commemorate her sainthood.

While celebrities and politicians acknowledged Mother Teresa’s works and her efforts to help the poor, many seem to question some of the claims made by her and her followers. On the day she came to be known as Saint of Calcutta #FraudTeresa started trending on Twitter.

Using #FraudTeresa, some Twitter users urged people to focus on the allegations that were recently unearthing against the saint over claims of her years of service.

Allegations against the saint ranged from converting religions of dying people to spending a meagre amount on humanitarian causes.

A few others claimed that the #FraudTeresa trend was made by RSS workers.

One cannot know for sure what Mother Teresa did or did not do. But Indian Twitter did go crazy with #FraudTeresa being on the second most trending hashtag of the day.
