The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have created quite a lot of buzz on social media on their five-day ‘royal visit’ to Pakistan. But what seems to have most heads turning is Middleton’s choice of traditional attires.
Middleton wore a royal blue salwar kameez, Pakistan’s traditional attire for women, on the first day of the visit. Most of her outfits for the trip were designed by Pakistani fashion designer Maheen Khan.

Many took to Twitter to praise the Duchess for “embracing the culture of the country”.
While some praised the Duchess, others took this opportunity to draw comparisons and slam women, including Pakistani actors, for their choice of clothes.

Many on the internet drew comparisons between Middleton and Princess Diana, who visited Pakistan in 1991. Some remarked that the Duchess channeled her mother-in-law’s style “in the best way possible”.
