Google Pays Tribute to Cartoonist Mario Miranda on His 90th B’Day

Google paid tribute to Goan illustrator and painter, Mario Miranda, on his 90th birth anniversary, with a doodle featuring one of his many illustrations about life in Goa.

Miranda is not formally trained, and began like many of us do, by drawing on walls. His earliest illustrations were depictions of village life, a theme for which he is still well known.

He contributed regularly to The Times of India and the Economic Times, and received critical acclaim with his work in The Illustrated Weekly of India. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2012.
