Recently, a video was shared by a Twitter user of a Ola cab driver, Mallappa, speaking fluent Sanskrit. Soon after the video was shared, it went viral.

Mallappa V P holds a Master's degree in Sanskrit from Sri Chamarajendra Samskrita Graduation and Post Graduation Centre, Chamarajpet.

Extremely passionate about this language, he wants the interest in Sanskrit to be kept alive. Hence, he imparts his knowledge to high school students at Venkat International Public School, Rajajinagar.

He was commended by netizens over his command of the language and efforts to preserve the same.

Inspiration For Many

His video not only received praises, but also motivated others to learn the language.

“I have been learning Sanskrit since I was a child. I love the language because it holds the key to the rich knowledge in our scriptures,” he says.

The Twitterati were extremely glad to see someone uphold and preserve our rich heritage.

And then there were a few who commended the talent of Bengaluru drivers.

No one else in his family knows the language, however he is still focused on propagating the language as much as he can. He’s fluent in Kannada and Sanskrit and loves to have a chat with his customers if they’re fluent in the language.

I’m awestruck by his sense of motivation and command over the language. Are you? Let us know in the comments!
