It sounds perfect when you’re about to tie the knot with your years old boyfriend. That’s what Casey thought her life was going to look like! Her six-year-old relationship with her boyfriend was finally culminating to marriage.
As Casey partied with her friends the night before her wedding, she received what some would call, a ‘devastating’ text message with a screenshot of her boyfriend’s affair with another woman.
This was supposed to be the happiest day of my life, instead, I knew it was the end of my dream relationship and everyone was going to witness it.Casey wrote in her blog on Whimm
While the messages did shatter her and she burst into tears, she made a decision to ‘out’ him on their wedding day in front of family and friends.
I walked down the aisle with leaden feet, my dream dress now just a costume. As he saw my face he knew this was not an ecstatic woman on her big day, but he had no idea what was coming.
As she stood next to him at the altar, she announced that the people gathered won’t witness a wedding and that Alex was not someone she thought he was. She read every single message the woman had sent to Casey’s fiancé as colour left Alex’s face.
I love all of you and as horrible as this is I’m glad you all are here. There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts.Casey writes in her blog
