Nine-year-old S. Srihita from Chennai not only saved up Rs 1.5 lakhs for her birthday celebrations, but used the money to donate 30 CCTV cameras to the city!
Going by this Times Now report, Srihita was inspired to buy CCTV cameras after attending a meeting organised by the Chennai police where they spoke of the importance in having CCTV cameras to make the city safer. A few days later, the little girl asked her dad to buy 30 CCTV cameras and donate it to the police department.
Along with the Chennai police staff, social media is lauding her efforts.

Srihita was fascinated by the police department’s ‘Third Eye’ project that makes use of CCTV cameras to keep an eye on suspects. Through a public-private partnership, the program aims to install CCTV cameras at every 50 meters interval in Chennai city.
Krishnamoorthy further added how Srihita is a big fan of former IPS officer Kiran Bedi and aims to be like her one day.
