Work Helps Deal With Pain: Dia Mirza on Split With Ex Husband

In August, actor Dia Mirza announced that she was separating and ending an 11-year relationship with ex husband Sahil Sangha. Opening up about her personal life in an interview with Hindustan Times, Dia said that her work is helping her cope with the monumental change in her life. Calling the decision “challenging, painful and difficult,” Dia said that it was her professional work that proved to be “cathartic.”

Dia added that her work is helping her grow and keeping her “pursuit of happiness alive.” She said she wanted to get out and keep finding her voice in order to empower not just herself but also others.

Dia also said that, “And I am fortunate that the kind of work that I do gives me the opportunity to deal with the pain better.”

On 1 August, Dia Mirza had taken to social media to announce that she and her husband Sahil Sangha had decided to separate and end their 11-year relationship. “We remain friends and will continue to be there for each other with love and respect. While our journeys may lead us down different paths, we are forever grateful for the bond that we share with each other,” the Sanju actor wrote in a note.

On 9 December, Dia Mirza turned a year older. On the ocassion she announced that she would be starting her new production house to make meaningful content. The company called One India Stories LLP plans to use different formats and mediums to bring forth genuine content.

The former beauty queen also has a production company, Born Free Entertainment Private Limited, which she had launched along with her ex husband Sahil Sangha in 2011.
