Yep, it’s that time of the year again. It’s results time!

While ICSE & ISC results were announced on 14 May, CBSE results are most likely to be announced on 28 May. Several state board results are also being released.

And naturally, the anticipation has the whole nation’s students chewing their fingernails. After all, the numbers scribbled on that piece of paper are the ultimate judge of how their lives are gonna pan out.

Or so the society fuelling this education system will have you believe.

If any student is seen taking interest in extra curricular activities or nurturing their hobbies ‘out of syllabus’, they are labelled as good for nothing and accused of wasting their precious time in nonsense.

The pressure to fair well in these exams is so extreme that you often read headlines like this:

While this may tickle your sense of humour, there are others that leave you hopeless and cursing the education system.

Therefore, parents, teachers and society as a whole can help the kids cope with the pressure and make them realise that board exams aren’t the end of the world.

To listen to RJ Anant’s funny take on this phenomenon called Board Exam Results, do listen to our podcast Jan Hitt Mein Jaari.
