This Gang Of Girls Will Help Get Your Horror On This Halloween
Here’s your guide to being spooky this Halloween
Oh, lookie lookie, Halloween is here! But what do we know about Halloween apart from it being ‘that Western festival’ we celebrate now?
Well, for starters, we know it’s scary. We know people spend an obscene amount of money on their costumes, to basically look they way I do every morning I roll out of bed. We know that pumpkins are carved to create art, which my desi mother would highly frown upon because ‘one shouldn't play with food’, and we know that Halloween parties in India are a big thing now.
Personally, I don't quite get the appeal of ‘trick or treating’. I mean, nobody ends up getting tricked, which is honestly just plain ol’ disappointing because I’ve got plenty tricks up my sleeve. I mean, at least try me Gupta uncle, TRY ME!
Also, all this running door to door for chocolate could be a cumbersome process, especially if you're a brown kid and your parents have conditioned you into depositing whatever you get from an uncle/aunty directly to them. Nobody wins, when you’re doing all the manual labour and your dad’s the one getting diabetes instead of you.
Anyway, it surely can be fun being scared and scaring people. And if you still get chills every time you hear the Aahat theme song or see the nimboo turn red in Raaz, then this is right up your alley.
So, before you frantically begin the hunt for your Halloween costumes or start making their budget DIY’s, I would like you to meet my friendly neighbourhood ghosts—err..I meant, gang of friends. These ladies can be your perfect guide to all things horror! You see, when they say ‘art imitates life’, these women really mean it.
So, sit back, relax and whip a notepad out.
Pro tip: If you dress like a cat, don’t forget to cross your ex’s path to curse him with seven years of bad luck. Happy spookies to you!
