Army Major Prasad Ganesh Mahadik was killed in a fire accident in the Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh on 30 December 2017. His Wife Gauri Prasad Mahadik will be inducted into the Indian Army in 2020. Gauri posted a heartfelt piece on social media that shares the story of her love, proposal, marriage and loss along with pictures. Her story below.

Gauri Prasad Mahadik cleared her Services Selection Board examinations in the ‘widow’ category in her second attempt. She will be joining the Officers Training Academy of the Indian Army in Chennai in April and will undergo 49 weeks of training.
