Citizens of Guatemala set on fire effigies of President-elect Donald Trump with devil horns during a traditional ceremony on Friday. The ceremony called "La Quema del Diablo", or the Burning of the Devil, is held ahead of Christmas every year.
Participants believe that torching the devil helps banish bad spirits from their homes and neighborhoods. The custom began in the 16th century, but has spread from various towns since the 1990s to become popular nationwide.
Trump's stance on immigration has made him unpopular with citizens of neighboring countries. His campaign promise of building a wall along the US-Mexico border has angered Latin Americans in the United States and around the world.
